As part of the ADEA Forum, Ángel Sáenz de Cenzano, General Manager of LinkedIn in Spain and Portugal, presented the conference “LinkedIn and the Connection Culture”. During his speech, he highlighted how the platform has become an essential tool for finding professional contacts and generating economic opportunities. Sáenz de Cenzano also addressed the current challenges facing managers, focusing on the need to foster a culture of connection in the world of work.
The ADEA Forum, organized by the Association of Managers and Executives of Aragón, resumed its activity with the outstanding participation of Ángel Sáenz de Cenzano, CEO of LinkedIn Spain and Portugal. Under the title “LinkedIn and the culture of connection”, Sáenz de Cenzano shared with the attendees how LinkedIn has evolved since its creation in 2003 to become one of the main professional platforms worldwide, with more than 1 billion users and 58 million companies represented.
During his speech, Sáenz de Cenzano emphasized that LinkedIn is not only a space for job searches, but also a network that encourages content creation and interaction between professionals from different sectors. This approach has transformed the way in which companies and individuals relate to each other, enhancing what the speaker called “the culture of connection”. In this context, he stated that “the biggest challenge facing managers today is the ability to effectively connect with the work ecosystems, both inside and outside their organizations.”
The president of ADEA, Fernando Rodrigo, moderator of the talk, emphasized that LinkedIn has established itself as a fundamental tool for connecting members and the business fabric of Aragon. Rodrigo highlighted Sáenz de Cenzano’s vision by recalling that, beyond resumes, it is vital to look at people as a set of skills and abilities in constant progress.
Sáenz de Cenzano also addressed the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on companies, describing it as a key tool that will mark a new era in the workplace. He stated that, although AI represents a significant change, people will remain crucial in decision making and human connections. In fact, LinkedIn already offers more than 700 AI-based services to enhance the user experience.
In conclusion, Saenz de Cenzano urged the managers present to stay curious and pay attention to both the people they connect with and their own employees. He emphasized the importance of understanding that “although organizations may have the story, it is the people who really create the connections.”
