Aragon reinforces school internationalization and cooperation through the European eTwinning Program

The eTwinning program, which promotes collaboration between schools in different countries through projects on a virtual platform, continues to consolidate in Aragon. During the 2023/2024 school year, the Aragonese community has promoted 74 eTwinning projects, and two new schools, IES Chabacier de Calatayud and CEIP Cesáreo Alierta in Zaragoza, have received accreditation as eTwinning Schools.

Thanks to this European program, which is part of Erasmus+ and uses technological tools to facilitate school cooperation, Aragon continues to advance in the internationalization of its education system. Participation has grown significantly this year, with 392 registered teachers, twice as many as in the previous year. In addition, to date, 12 projects have obtained the Quality Seal, and this figure is expected to increase, as the application period is still open.

The role of the eTwinning ambassadors in Aragon has been fundamental to the success of these initiatives. These three experts have provided training and advice to teachers, thus strengthening the implementation of the program in the region. It is also worth mentioning the participation of the eTwinning group “Rural Areas”, coordinated by Miriam Salinas from IES Medina Albaida, which already has 357 members.

From the Department of Education of Aragon, teachers are encouraged to continue participating in this platform in the next course, highlighting its importance for the internationalization and improvement of the education system.
