Government of Aragón and AWS Launch AI Training Ecosystem
The Government of Aragón and Amazon Web Services (AWS) presented the AI Developer Hub, a center of excellence to promote artificial intelligence within the Aragonese educational ecosystem. This initiative will position Aragón as a national leader in technological training and talent development in innovation.
The project was presented on Friday at the AWS offices in New York. Attendees included President Azcón, the Rector of the University of Zaragoza Rosa Bolea, the Vice-Rector for Digital Strategy and Artificial Intelligence Javier Fabra, and AWS representatives David Blazquez and Paula Bueno. The initial collaboration involves the University of Zaragoza (UNIZAR), whose university community—faculty, researchers, administrative staff, and students—will have access to AWS generative AI training.
The training will begin to be implemented at the start of the next academic year in a virtual and personalized manner through the AWS Skill Builder platform. Participants will develop specific tools using PartyRock, an AWS tool for creating generative AI applications. In the initial phase, participation will be voluntary, although the medium-term goal is to integrate artificial intelligence training into different degree programs and expand it to Vocational Training.
Development Pillars of the AI Developer Hub
The Government of Aragón and AWS will work on several fundamental pillars: the creation of a permanent observatory to analyze the impact of AI on industries and professions; the development of training programs adapted to business demands; and the deployment of technological infrastructure to provide access to cloud services, AI solutions, and secure development environments for innovation.
Aragón will become the permanent headquarters of two AWS initiatives: the National Generative AI Awards, which recognize innovative applications in generative AI, and the AWS DeepRacer Racing Campus Spain, a physical facility for learning machine learning models and robotics through competitions. The project is developed in collaboration with the AWS Tech Alliance, a coalition that brings together over 60 companies, 650 educational institutions, and public administrations.
The Government of Aragón announced basic training in generative artificial intelligence for incoming students in the 2025-2026 academic year. Approximately 6,500 students from all fields of study will be able to access this pioneering program in Spain, with the possibility of obtaining an official European certification.
