IAF Unveils Its 2023 Management Model for SMEs in Zaragoza

The Aragonese Institute of Promotion (IAF) presented its new Management Model for Competitiveness and Innovation on November 13 at the Zaragoza Congress Palace. The event brought together professionals, executives, and representatives from Aragonese companies with the aim of enhancing the competitiveness of the region’s productive fabric through tools focused on transformation, sustainability, and improvement of business management.

Features of the New Model

The model is a national pioneer and was designed as a practical tool for Aragonese SMEs to become more agile, sustainable, and innovative. It is structured around four key dimensions: Strategy and Governance, Operations and Clients, Resources and Talent, and Transformation and Innovation. It incorporates two levels of application according to the maturity level of each organization, along with digital self-diagnosis tools, training programs, and specialized support.

The model was developed over more than a year in collaboration with experts and representatives of the business community, responding to the real needs of SMEs and focusing on the challenges of digitization and sustainability.

The Aragón Business Summit 2025 was organized around the four dimensions of the model, combining presentations, dialogues, and panels of experiences with leading companies from various sectors. It also included a B2B networking program with the participation of IAF Conecta, AREX, SODIAR, and ITAINNOVA, as well as specialized workshops linked to each dimension.

The Vice President and Councillor of Presidency, Economy and Justice, Mar Vaquero, closed the event by highlighting that the strategy arises from a reflection by the regional government to support the business community, unleash talent, and facilitate investment. She emphasized that «we cannot settle for merely reacting to changes, but we must be capable of anticipating, learning, and adapting.» Daniel Rey, Managing Director of the IAF, delivered the official presentation of the new model.
