Navantia and Marine Instruments to Explore ISR Systems for Defense and Maritime Use

Navantia has announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding with Marine Instruments to explore joint initiatives in intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) systems for maritime and defense applications.

According to a statement released by Navantia, the agreement provides for the identification and development of projects to define, integrate, validate and commission information-gathering, processing and management technologies. Potential areas of work would range from the use of sensors to data processing and operational use.

The collaboration will combine Navantia’s capabilities in naval platforms and defense systems integration with Marine Instruments’ expertise in unmanned systems, remote sensing, communications and applied intelligence, according to the company. The memorandum establishes a framework for assessing future opportunities, although the announcement does not specify projects, investments or implementation timelines.
