The Spanish Army has awarded Iturri a €5.5 million contract to supply 61 Landtrek all-terrain military vehicles configured to accommodate information and communications systems. Deliveries must be completed by Dec. 15, according to procurement documents reviewed by Infodefensa.
The vehicles will feature a double cab, seating for four occupants, and an enclosed cargo bed with a hardtop. The contract sets a price of €62,000 excluding VAT per unit in its basic configuration, rising to €75,000 with the planned accessories and modifications.
The upgrades include a winch, reinforced suspension, raised air intake, modified front and rear bumpers, an alternator, and an auxiliary battery. They also include improvements to the cargo bed’s hard cover and a portable fuel tank with mounting bracket.
A framework agreement for 4,500 vehicles
The order falls under the framework agreement signed by the Spanish Army and Iturri in September 2024 for the supply of up to 4,500 VMTT vehicles over four years. The program has an initial budget of €217.6 million and includes a two-year extension that would raise its value to €315 million. Contracts formalized so far total more than 1,000 units.
The VMTT Landtrek is based on the Peugeot Landtrek and will be imported for subsequent conversion and militarization. Its introduction will make it possible to progressively replace the Santana Aníbal off-road vehicles that remain in service.
The specifications provide for the platform’s various versions to be distributed among the Spanish Army, the Air and Space Force, the Navy, and the Civil Guard. The Ministry of Defense limits their use to non-combat tactical roles related to unit operations within Spain and the preparation of contingents assigned to overseas missions.
