10,003 young people in Aragon have applied for the 2026 Youth Culture Voucher, equivalent to 66% of the region’s estimated 18-year-old population. Zaragoza accounts for more than three-quarters of applications submitted.
Aragon surpasses 10,000 applications for the 2026 Youth Culture Voucher
The Youth Culture Voucher program has received 7,582 applications in Zaragoza, 1,508 in Huesca and 913 in Teruel. Altogether, the applications represent nearly two-thirds of the 15,155 young people of that age estimated to live in Aragon by the National Statistics Institute.
Across Spain, 374,131 applications have been submitted, representing 66.6% of an estimated population of 561,459 people turning 18 in 2026. That figure is equivalent to roughly two out of every three young people born in 2008.
The number of applications exceeds the previous edition’s beneficiary count, which reached 363,054 people, by 10,946. However, the final total may change, as applications must undergo the national government’s individualized grant-review process.
The €400 grant expands its eligible uses to include instruments and cultural courses
Correos, which provides the program’s banking support, has already begun sending virtual and physical cards to young beneficiaries. Once awarded, they will have one year to spend the €400 grant at the 4,217 participating establishments in Spain.
The first option allows recipients to divide the amount among different cultural categories: up to €200 for live and audiovisual arts, cultural heritage, artistic creation tools and art supplies; up to €100 for physical-format cultural products; and another €100 for digital or online content.
The second option allows recipients to allocate the €400 to a single category: in-person or online cultural courses and workshops; musical instruments; or artistic creation tools and art supplies. The 2026 edition introduces, for the first time, the purchase of instruments, artistic materials and cultural courses as eligible uses of the grant.
The program would surpass 1.67 million beneficiaries across five editions
The Youth Culture Voucher was established under a Royal Decree approved by the Council of Ministers on March 21, 2023, and has an allocation of €170 million under Spain’s extended national budget.
The first four editions totaled 1,298,764 beneficiaries: 277,607 in 2022, 323,668 in 2023, 334,435 in 2024 and 363,054 in 2025. If the 2026 applications are confirmed after review, the program will surpass 1.67 million beneficiaries over its five rounds.
The Ministry of Culture links the initiative to promoting cultural interest among young people and supporting the cultural sector.
