Aragon’s economy is expected to grow by 2% in 2027, according to a forecast presented on October 28, 2026, by the regional minister for Economy, Competitiveness and Employment, Eva Valle. The estimate also points to a further decline in unemployment, to 7.4% by the end of next year.
Aragon forecasts 2% GDP growth in 2027
The outlook for Aragon’s economy is underpinned by investment, business activity, exports, construction and job creation, together with an increasingly diversified productive structure. Eva Valle described the estimate as “prudent and credible.”
The outlook comes amid a complex international environment, shaped by volatility in energy markets and slower growth across Europe. Despite these factors, the forecast envisages continued positive momentum in economic activity in Aragon throughout 2027.
Services to lead growth as unemployment falls to 7.4%
The unemployment rate would continue to decline, reaching 7.4% by the end of 2027, below the Spanish average, according to the projections presented by the regional minister.
Services would be the main driver of growth. Construction would maintain a strong position, while industry would remain resilient. These sectors are showing dynamic performance and continue to create jobs, according to Eva Valle’s assessment.
Interest rates, demand and investment to shape Aragon’s economic performance
The growth forecast could improve if ECB interest rates fall more quickly, demand rises or planned investments in the region materialize.
Risks that could curb GDP growth include geopolitical tensions, a weaker contribution from the external sector and slowing consumption. These factors will shape the trajectory of Aragon’s economy in 2027.
