The grants from the Government of Aragón to the textile and footwear sector in 2024 facilitated a business investment of 1.28 million euros. Ten manufacturing companies benefited from the PAIP program, focused on modernization and sustainability projects, highlighting the relevance of this aid for the sector.
The program provided 250,000 euros in direct grants, co-financed by European funds FEDER (100,000 euros) and regional budget (150,000 euros). The recipient companies operate mainly in Zaragoza (60%) and Huesca (30%), showing a notable presence in rural areas that strengthen the industrial fabric of these regions.
The investment was directed towards various initiatives, such as the renewal of machinery for energy efficiency, which accounted for 45% of the total investment. Meanwhile, the implementation of circular production systems represented 30%, while the digitization of logistical processes accounted for the remaining 25%. These actions modernize companies while also promoting a more sustainable model in the industry.
The initiatives generated 28 new jobs, with a predominance of women in 65% of the hires. Additionally, 40% of the beneficiary companies are micro-enterprises with fewer than 10 employees, highlighting their fundamental role in energizing the rural industrial fabric. This boost not only benefits the companies but also improves the labor market in the localities where they are located.
