The Government of Aragón will lead the implementation of DigiCLASS, an ambitious European project aimed at standardizing the assessment of digital skills in the educational field. Funded by the Erasmus+ program of the European Union, this initiative promises to revolutionize the way digital skills of students and teachers are measured and certified across Europe.
Innovation in the assessment of digital skills
DigiCLASS is inspired by the French model Pix and follows the guidelines of the European framework DigComp. The platform is designed to initially evaluate the pedagogical integration and skills of teachers, before expanding to students. The aim is for students to obtain an official accreditation that is recognized in any country within the European Union. This project, expected to last 32 months, has an approximate budget of one million euros provided by the European Commission.
Aragón as the epicenter of the project
Aragón will not only implement the platform in Spain, but will also play a crucial role in coordinating the International Pedagogical Committee, which will bring together representatives from various European educational administrations. The trials will be conducted in the network of public primary, secondary, and vocational training schools in Aragón, providing a real environment for the pilot. The San Jorge University of Aragón will lead the needs analysis at the European level and the methodological design of the assessment.
International collaboration and expected benefits
The project will be carried out simultaneously in Spain, Italy, and Austria, with the participation of entities from France, Greece, and Belgium, and the support of the Ministries of Education of Slovakia and Luxembourg. Denmark will also be part of this international collaboration. DigiCLASS promises to offer training and innovative resources to teachers, provide equitable assessment and valid accreditation across Europe for students, and assist educational administrations in identifying and addressing digital deficiencies early on.
