Aragón Shines at SIL 2026 and Celebrates 25 Years of PLAZA

Aragón reinforces its position as a key player in the logistics sector by participating in the 28th edition of the International Logistics Salon (SIL) in Barcelona. The autonomous community, represented by Aragón Plataforma Logística (APL), also celebrates the 25th anniversary of PLAZA, solidifying its role as a leader in logistics infrastructure in Southern Europe.

Aragón’s Participation in SIL 2026 and the Weight of the Logistics Sector

The Government of Aragón demonstrates its commitment to the growth of the logistics sector by participating in SIL 2026, where more than a thousand companies employing over 35,000 people account for 7.7% of the regional GDP. Aragón’s presence at the event is centered on the APL stand, which will host Aragón Day tomorrow, led by Octavio López, the Minister of Housing, Development, Logistics, and Territorial Cohesion.

Aragón Day at SIL will be a meeting point for representatives from national and international logistics, including ports, operators, and transportation multinationals. This participation underscores Aragón’s importance as a strategic logistics hub in Spain and Europe.

Celebration of PLAZA’s 25th Anniversary and New Infrastructure

Within the framework of SIL, the 25th anniversary of PLAZA is celebrated, a platform that has been fundamental to the logistic development of Aragón. This anniversary coincides with the announcement of construction works for the new northern access via Puente Turiaso, an improvement awaited by businesses and workers aiming to optimize the mobility and competitiveness of PLAZA.

These works reflect the community’s commitment to developing infrastructure that strengthens its logistics capability, positioning PLAZA as a key infrastructure for Southern Europe.

Strategic Logistics Plan for Aragón and Projected Investments

Octavio López will present the Strategic Logistics Plan for Aragón, which will guide the sector’s development over the next 15 years. This plan aims to consolidate Aragón’s position in the logistics arena, promoting intermodal advancement and the development of new platforms in the western and southeastern parts of the community.

SIL serves as a showcase to present Aragón as an attractive investment destination, with over €90 billion planned to boost the sector. These investments could generate over 35,000 jobs, thus increasing the region’s competitiveness.

Additionally, López will emphasize the need to advance strategic railway projects, such as the Cantabrian-Mediterranean Corridor and the Central Pyrenean Traverse, which are essential for improving the logistical capacities of both Europe and Spain.
