Aragón has successfully attracted a total of 70 billion euros in business investments since the beginning of the current legislative term. The President of the Government of Aragón, Jorge Azcón, has emphasized that this figure positions the autonomous community as an economic leader on both the national and international stages. According to the President, no other autonomous community in Spain or Southern Europe has announced projects of this magnitude.
This milestone has been reached following the presentation of the Buffalo Project, promoted by the Aragonese company Forestalia. This project includes an investment of 12.048 billion euros aimed at the construction and operation of three data centers in the province of Zaragoza. President Azcón has described this initiative as historic, as it combines Aragonese capital with an investment that positions the project as the second largest of its kind in the region.
The Government Council has approved the Declaration of Autonomous Interest for the three infrastructures: DCM Data in Magallón (3.307 billion euros), DCM Dédalo in Botorrita (3.323 billion euros), and DCM Blue in Alfamén (5.417 billion euros).
During the construction phase, the project will generate approximately 4,000 jobs annually over 8 years in sectors such as construction, logistics, and electricity. In the operational phase, 3,000 permanent jobs will be created: 825 in Magallón, 825 in Botorrita, and 1,350 in Alfamén. 50% of the energy powering the centers will come from self-consumption, with agreements formalized in renewable energy generation facilities. The three projects have obtained access and connection permits with the Red Eléctrica de España at their respective substations.
