The Ministry of Culture has reaffirmed its commitment to the Extrarradios Festival in Huesca, ensuring financial support for the third edition, which will take place in October 2026. Minister Ernest Urtasun confirmed the continuation of this collaboration after meeting with the mayors of Almudévar and Ayerbe, the municipalities organizing the event. The financial contribution for this edition remains at 70,000 euros.
Progressive Increase in Funding
The financial backing of the Ministry of Culture for the Extrarradios Festival has shown consistent growth since its inception. In 2024, the festival received 50,000 euros, a figure that increased to 70,000 euros in 2025 and is maintained for 2026. This increase reflects the government’s commitment to the development and consolidation of this cultural event in the region.
A Multidisciplinary and Creative Festival
Extrarradios is distinguished by its multidisciplinary program, encompassing a wide range of artistic disciplines such as dance, theater, performance, literature, comics, film, and music. This festival was born in response to the cancellation of the historic Periferias Festival, maintaining its essence of free creativity and critical thought. Its objective is to explore contemporary cultural creativity from a thematic and multidisciplinary perspective.
The festival seeks to balance the global and the local, foster dialogue between the popular and the avant-garde, and create a cultural space in the region that benefits both creators and the audience.
Expectations for the Third Edition
With the third edition on the horizon, the festival is expected to continue solidifying its status as a cultural reference in the region. The slogan and specific program for this edition will be announced in the coming months, generating anticipation among attendees and regular participants of the event.
