The Government of Aragón has decided to extend the deadline for applying for aid for the incorporation of young farmers and the modernization of agricultural operations until April 9, 2026. This measure aims to promote generational renewal and ensure the future of the agricultural sector in the region.
Reasons Behind the Deadline Extension
The extension of the deadline, announced in the Official Bulletin of Aragón (BOA), responds to the need to alleviate the bureaucratic burden that coincides with other administrative procedures, such as the Single Application for the CAP. José Manuel Cruz, Director General of Rural Development, emphasized that the aim is to avoid unnecessary haste and ensure that each application is submitted with all guarantees.
Modifications to the Aid Requirements
In addition to extending the deadline, the new order introduces improvements in the requirements for applying for the aid, seeking greater clarity and precision. The definition of agricultural operation has been detailed both in the application and in the final phase of the process. Additionally, the criteria for accrediting the status of professional farmer have been clarified, considering factors such as agricultural income and the applicant’s work history.
Another significant modification is the determination of reference tax data, which aims to prevent uncertainties arising from possible subsequent changes to this data.
Technical Updates to Facilitate the Process
The order also includes updates to the technical annexes and corrects inaccuracies in the initial wording. These improvements are intended to facilitate the processing of applications, making the process more accessible to applicants. All necessary documentation is available on the electronic headquarters of the Government of Aragón.
