The Aragonese labor market is at a crucial moment, driven by technological transformation and innovation, as highlighted in the recent presentation of the XVII «Human Capital Outlook» in Zaragoza. Claudia Pérez Forniés, acting Councillor for Employment, Science, and Universities, led the session «Taking the Pulse of the Labor Market», where emerging trends were analyzed and discussions were held about the economic opportunities opening up in the region.
A Detailed Analysis of the Labor Market
The event, held at the CEOE Aragón headquarters on February 24, served as a platform to present the XVII edition of the «Human Capital Outlook» report, a key document prepared by the EY Talent and Innovation Institute. This report has established itself as an essential tool for labor market professionals, providing a detailed analysis of the trends and changes affecting labor relations and human resources. Additionally, the Quarterly Labor Market Report was presented, which complements the analysis of current employment dynamics.
The report aims to help understand an increasingly complex and changing labor context, offering data and perspectives that facilitate strategic decision-making in a constantly evolving environment.
Aragon: Innovation and Opportunities
Pérez Forniés emphasized that Aragon is experiencing an «extraordinary moment,» characterized by the arrival of significant investments that are redefining professions, skills, and work models. Accompanied by notable figures such as Benito Tesier, president of CEOE Aragón, and Fátima Báñez, president of the EY Talent and Innovation Institute, the councillor stressed the importance of attracting, retaining, and developing talent in the region to take advantage of these new economic opportunities.
Technological transformation and innovation are key drivers of this change, and Aragon is positioning itself as a development epicenter in these areas, creating a conducive environment for growth and adaptation to the new demands of the labor market.
Training and Talent Development Strategy
In her speech, Pérez Forniés underscored the importance of the employment training strategy that has been consolidated by the Government of Aragon over the past 30 months. This strategy has been developed in collaboration with companies, clusters, institutions, and social agents, focusing on updating the map of university degrees, consolidating specialized and dual vocational training, and promoting Reskilling and Upskilling programs through INAEM.
According to the councillor, «the improvement of workers’ qualifications and reskilling is the foundation upon which we are building new opportunities.» Reports like the Human Capital Outlook are essential for anticipating future needs and guiding strategic decision-making in the employment sector.
The event concluded with remarks from Mar Vaquero, acting vice president of the Government of Aragon, who reaffirmed the regional government’s commitment to continue supporting initiatives that strengthen the labor market and promote sustainable economic development in the region.
