The Zaragoza-based company Integra Tecnología has taken a significant step in the audiovisual industry by participating in the production of Olympo, a new original series from Netflix. Its Department of Innovation and Digital Heritage has been responsible for the 3D scanning and modeling of several real locations, which were subsequently integrated using visual effects (VFX) in various sequences of the project.
The collaboration has been conducted alongside the production company Entropy, also based in Aragón, marking Integra’s first foray into large-scale fiction productions for global platforms.
Real locations transformed into digital environments
Integra’s work included scanning locations such as the Balneario de Panticosa, the athletics track in Guadarrama, and the municipal stadium of Alcorcón. Through the use of advanced photogrammetry techniques and high-precision scanners, the team generated detailed 3D models that facilitated the later digital integration of the settings within the series narrative.
«The project demonstrates how 3D technology can be naturally integrated into audiovisual storytelling, adding realism, detail, and efficiency for production companies,» explains María Mateo, Project Manager of the Digital Heritage Department at Integra. «We are proud to have contributed to the creation of digital universes that amplify visual impact without compromising architectural fidelity,» she adds.
Applications beyond entertainment
Integra’s experience in digitizing heritage, reconstructing historical spaces, and modeling physical environments has been key to this collaboration. Until now, the technology developed by the firm had been applied in areas such as heritage preservation, cultural tourism, and education. Part of this work can be explored through their profile on the Sketchfab platform.
Entry into the audiovisual sector reinforces the versatility of their technological solutions and opens up new opportunities to integrate 3D scanning and modeling into various creative formats.
A milestone for Aragonese technological innovation
Integra’s participation in an internationally recognized production like Olympo consolidates its position as a leading technology provider in complex digital projects and underscores the potential of the Aragonese business fabric in high-innovation sectors. With this initiative, the company demonstrates how specialized knowledge and advanced technology can add value to industries as demanding as the film industry.
