The restaurant El Portal de Alcolea de Cinca presents its award-winning sandwich «PaquiTA La Cubana» and other dishes made with Ternasco de Aragón at the Somontano Wine Show.
Barbastro hosts once again the Somontano Wine Festival, which this edition celebrates its 25th anniversary with a first-class gastronomic and cultural program. Among the most notable proposals is the participation of the IGP Ternasco de Aragón, which returns to the event with its own space at the gastronomic exhibition to showcase some of its most representative dishes.
From July 31 to August 3, at booth number 17 of the fairgrounds, the restaurant El Portal de Alcolea de Cinca will offer attendees its renowned Paquito de Ternasco de Aragón, awarded as the best sandwich in the province of Huesca in the latest edition of the Ruta del Paquito. In addition, visitors will also be able to taste churrasquitos de Ternasco on creamy potato and the popular bravas de Ramón.
«PaquiTA La Cubana»: a sandwich with Aragonese identity
The star of the proposal is the «PaquiTA La Cubana«, an Aragonese interpretation of the classic Cuban sandwich, created by chef Ramón Lapuyade. The recipe includes:
- IGP Ternasco de Aragón fillets in pibil style, breaded
- Crunchy lamb madejas
- Braised sweet ham
- Lactose-free cheddar cheese
- Pickles, pickled onions, and piparras
- Mint and three types of mustard
- Bourbon sauce and smoked jalapeño
An original combination that pays tribute to both the Aragonese product and culinary creativity.
A consolidated showcase with flavor and culture
The Somontano Wine Show will open its doors every day starting at 9:00 PM. In addition to the gastronomic proposals, the event will offer unique tastings organized by the Regulatory Council of the DOP Somontano, cultural shows, and a special experience for the 25th anniversary: the «25th Anniversary Experience», which will include tapas created by Michelin-starred chefs.
The presence of Ternasco de Aragón solidifies its role as one of the emblematic products of regional cuisine, reinforcing its connection to the most notable gastronomic events in the region.
