The D.O. Cariñena has unveiled a new Wine Museum that combines cultural heritage with modern technology. This space, designed to offer an immersive, interactive, and multisensory experience, highlights the history and significance of wine production in the region.
A modern museum in a historical setting
The Wine Museum is located in the historic headquarters of the Regulatory Council of the D.O. Cariñena, a Mudejar-style building constructed in 1918. This facility has been restored as part of the centenary celebration activities of the institution.
Visitors can explore over 700 square meters that feature interactive exhibits, projections, videos, photographs, and historical documents. The exhibits emphasize the scientific and cultural elements of winemaking, including the aromas, colors, and sounds of the process. Additionally, audio guides are available in several languages, enhancing accessibility and public engagement.
Cultural and economic significance
The museum aims to promote wine tourism and reinforce Cariñena’s status as one of the oldest wine regions in Spain. The project receives support from both public and private funding and is part of the regional strategy to enhance heritage and tourism.
