The Technological Institute of Aragon (ITA) will host the international workshop Wings of Change: Navigating the Future of Sustainable Aerostructures on September 17, a key event for the future of sustainable aviation in Europe. This gathering will bring together researchers, companies, and experts to explore advancements in sustainable aerostructures, as part of the ATLAS Cluster and funded by Horizon Europe.
Innovation in Sustainable Aerostructures
The workshop will focus on innovation within the aerospace sector, addressing the development of a new generation of lighter, smarter, and more sustainable aerostructures. This event marks the first joint initiative of five projects funded by Horizon Europe, aimed at sharing results, fostering collaboration, and accelerating the transfer of research to industrial applications.
Participants will have the opportunity to explore a variety of topics that cover the entire value chain of aerostructures. From the development of recyclable composite materials to advanced automated manufacturing processes, the workshop will provide a comprehensive overview of the technologies that will define the future of aviation.
Program and European Participation
The workshop program is structured into four thematic sessions that encompass the different stages of developing the aerostructures of the future. More than fifteen specialists from research centers, universities, and European companies will share their knowledge and discuss the challenges facing the sector. Among the highlighted projects are CompSTLar, PLEIADES, TOSCA, pAIramid, and HyperMorpH, all integrated within the ATLAS Cluster.
The event is aimed at professionals and researchers in advanced materials, digital engineering, manufacturing, and aerospace design, providing a space for knowledge exchange and the creation of new collaboration opportunities.
