The city of Teruel is preparing for an unusual weekend from May 16 to 18, where science, history, occultism, and entertainment will come together in the first edition of the Teruel Mágico congress. An event that will bring together specialists in mystery, communicators, magicians, and top-level communicators around what is referred to as OCULTURA, in the context of activities leading up to the total solar eclipse of 2026, one of the major astronomical events of the decade.
Organized by the Diputación de Teruel and Caja Rural de Teruel, with the collaboration of the City Hall, the congress will be free of charge, although with limited capacity and prior registration through the official website (www.teruelmagico.es).
A reference lineup in the world of mystery
The program, aimed at both believers and skeptics, includes lectures, shows, live music, and radio recordings. Among the participants are notable names such as Miguel Blanco, a key figure in the journalism of the inexplicable and director of Espacio en Blanco (RNE), Jesús Callejo (La Escóbula de la Brújula), Juan Gómez, Josep Guijarro, and Miguel Pedrero, all with extensive experience in media such as Cuarto Milenio or La Rosa de los Vientos.
On the performing side, the event will feature mentalist Miguel de Lucas, host of the TVE program Un país mágico, and hypnotist Jorge Astyaro, considered one of the best in the world in his field. Music will also be present with a performance by Kinnia, a group that blends Celtic sounds with imaginary landscapes.
A different perspective on Teruel
Beyond entertainment, Teruel Mágico aims to be a tool for regional promotion. This was explained by the Tourism deputy Marta Sancho when presenting the event: “We want to energize the province, showcase its architectural, cultural, and gastronomic value. And what better context than the upcoming solar eclipse to project the image of Teruel to the entire country”.
The councilor for Culture, Carlos Méndez, defined the gathering as a symbolic prelude to the eclipse and an opportunity to attract diverse audiences. “Here, there is room for believers, those who doubt, and those who just want to be amazed”.
An intense and diverse schedule
The congress will kick off on Friday, May 16, at 5:00 PM in the Auditorium of the Government of Aragon, with a lecture by Mexican Hugo Semoloni, followed by the live broadcast of the radio program Nueva Dimensión. The rest of the activities will move to the Teatro Marín, where talks, debates, and performances will take place on Saturday and Sunday.
One of the most anticipated moments will be the live broadcast of the iconic “Espacio en Blanco”, on Saturday night, hosted by Miguel Blanco. The day will conclude with a musical performance by Kinnia.
Sunday the 18th will close with a talk by Aldo Linares, a collaborator of Cuarto Milenio and member of Grupo Hepta, and a live hypnosis session led by Jorge Astyaro.
Registrations and schedules
Tickets, which are free, must be reserved in time slots (Friday afternoon, Saturday morning, etc.) at www.teruelmagico.es. The organization reminds attendees that capacity is limited and recommends registering as soon as possible.
An opportunity to see the invisible
In the words of Miguel Blanco, “the mission of this event is to open minds and demonstrate that the world is bigger than what we have been told.” With this spirit, Teruel Mágico promises to be a unique gathering in the Spanish cultural landscape, where critical thinking coexists with a fascination for the unknown.
