The Vive Latino Spain, held this weekend at the Expo venue in Zaragoza, brought together more than 38,000 spectators, establishing itself as one of the major musical events on the European calendar. The mayor of Zaragoza, Natalia Chueca, described the festival as a “great organizational, cultural, and city image success.”
“Vive Latino is already an indisputable cultural reference that transcends artistic boundaries to become a driver of economic development.” — Natalia Chueca, mayor of Zaragoza.
The blend of styles in Spanish music once again captivated a diverse and enthusiastic audience, with performances by Kase.O, Fangoria, Los Secretos, Molotov, Macaco, Love of Lesbian, Zahara, Maldita Vecindad, and Alcalá Norte, among others. According to Chueca, the event “is already an indisputable cultural reference that transcends the artistic realm to become a driver of economic development.”
In its four editions, the festival has attracted over 155,000 spectators and generated an economic impact of 20 million euros, in addition to creating more than 1,500 direct and indirect jobs related to the setup, development, and teardown of the event.
“Culture is undoubtedly a very important driver of economic development to project Zaragoza to the world and to generate wealth in our city,” said the mayor, who emphasized that the Aragonese capital has “a solid foundation and adequate infrastructure, such as the Expo venue, to host large-scale events.”
