The Zaragoza Airport has started the year 2026 with a notable increase in passenger numbers, aircraft movements, and freight transport, consolidating its position as an important logistical and transportation hub in the region. This growth reflects a positive trend compared to the same period last year.
During January 2026, Zaragoza Airport recorded a total of 46,335 passengers, representing an increase of 5.2% compared to January 2025. Of these passengers, 46,246 used commercial flights, particularly highlighting the increase in international routes, which reached 31,187 passengers, a 9.7% rise compared to the same month last year. This growth in international traffic underscores the airport’s increasing connectivity with destinations outside of Spain.
Increase in Aircraft Movements
The airport has also seen a significant increase in aircraft movements, with a total of 745 operations for landings and takeoffs in January 2026. This represents an increase of 10.5% compared to January 2025. This data reflects not only greater commercial activity but also an optimization in the operational management of the airport.
Boost in Freight Transport
Freight transport has been the area with the largest percentage growth, reaching 13,868 tons in January 2026, which signifies an increase of 19.6% compared to the same month last year. This increase highlights the importance of Zaragoza Airport as a logistics center, especially in the context of an increasingly interconnected global trade.
In general, the airports of the Aena Group have also shown positive trends, managing 25,830,159 passengers, a 3.3% increase compared to 2025, and transporting 115,876 tons of goods, a 7.1% increase from the previous year. These figures reinforce the growth of the airport sector in Spain, with Zaragoza standing out for its remarkable performance at the beginning of 2026.
