Zaragoza Celebrates Book Day with 115 Exhibitors on April 23

The Book Day of Zaragoza, which will take place on April 23, expands this year to Salamero Square, joining the traditional spaces of Paseo de la Independencia, Plaza de Aragón, and Plaza de Santa Engracia. This event, organized by the Permanent Book Commission (COPELI) with the support of the Zaragoza Provincial Council, the Zaragoza City Council, and the Government of Aragon, will feature the participation of 115 exhibitors and 350 authors who will sign books for 12 continuous hours.

Territorial Expansion and Notable Participation

For the first time, Book Day will include Salamero Square, a decision driven by the growing demand for exhibitor spaces. This year, 175 arches and spaces will be made available, surpassing the 157 from the previous year. The representation includes 25 bookstores, 49 publishers and distributors, as well as the participation of a large supermarket, the Aragonese Association of Female Writers and Writers, the Aragonese Association of Comic Authors, the Association of Old Books, and 36 other entities.

The event is shaping up to be a meeting point for literature lovers, offering a diverse selection aimed at satisfying both avid readers and curious first-timers.

Cultural Programming and Continuous Activities

Book Day will run uninterrupted from 9:30 AM to 9:30 PM, featuring author signings, cultural activities, and the distribution of informational materials. 6,550 carnations, 5,000 program handouts, and 10,000 bookmarks with access to the programming via QR codes will be distributed, along with 300 promotional posters. In addition, the Teatro de las Esquinas will present performances in Santa Engracia Square, adding a theatrical flair to the literary day.

Creativity in the Event Poster

This year’s poster has been designed by Pilar Aznar from the studio 12caracteres, who chose to use capital letters as the central element. According to Aznar, these letters symbolize «the beginning of reading, opening a window to discovery, learning, and everything a book is about to offer.» This vision seeks to capture the essence of what Book Day means: an open door to the world of literature and knowledge.
