The Somontano Designation of Origin will bring three events to Zaragoza in September and October, combining wine with film, music, and gastronomy. The ZARAGOZA VINO SOMONTANO campaign will feature two capacity-limited events and the first Zaragoza edition of Somontano en Ruta, which will be open to the public.
Film and music pair with Somontano wines in Zaragoza
Zaragoza’s Film Archive will host the Cine y Vino event on Thursday, September 17, at 9:00 p.m. Wine expert and presenter Mariano Navascués and film critic and short-film director Dani Calavera will lead a tasting that pairs movie characters with different wines from the Somontano DO, in a format to be held for the first time at a Zaragoza movie theater.
The second capacity-limited event will be Maridaje Sonoro, scheduled for Saturday, October 3, at 12:00 p.m., at Sala Oasis de Zaragoza. The session, limited to 100 people, will bring together Radio 3 music curator Jesús Bombín and sommelier and presenter Meritxell Falgueras to explore wines, grape varieties, and musical styles, examining the relationship between a song and a wine.
Somontano en Ruta arrives in downtown Zaragoza for the first time
Somontano en Ruta will hold its fourth edition on the morning of Saturday, September 26, on Segismundo Moret Street. The initiative, which until now had toured towns across the province of Huesca, will arrive in Zaragoza for the first time with wine and tapas stands, live music, and DJ sets.
Participating wineries will include Fábregas, Enate, Viñas del Vero, Pirineos, Laus, Abinasa, Sommos, Meler, Alodia, Sers, Monte Odina, Mipanas, El Grillo y la Luna, Idrias and Leo & Niné Wines. The food offering will be provided by Massala, Brutal, Quesos de Radiquero, Maitai, La Jaula de Grillos, Julián Mairal and IberJabugo. While this event will offer free admission, the remaining spots for Cine y Vino and Maridaje Sonoro can be secured by completing a quiz on the Somontano DO website.
