Aragón Allocates 3.5 Million Euros for Agricultural Aid 2023-2027

The Government of Aragón has launched a call for agricultural aid totaling 3.5 million euros, aimed at enhancing training, advisory services, and innovation in the agricultural sector. This aid is part of the Strategic Plan of the CAP 2023-2027, as announced by the Department of Agriculture, Livestock, and Food.

Training and Advisory Services: Keys to the Agricultural Future

In the area of training and information, two orders have been published with a budget of 500,000 euros each. These aids are directed towards agrarian organizations, cooperatives, and other entities dedicated to non-formal training and conducting trials within the Agricultural Experimental Network of Aragón. This effort aims to equip farmers and ranchers with the tools and knowledge necessary to face the challenges in the sector.

On the other hand, the fourth call for agricultural advisory services, with a budget of 2 million euros, is set to handle up to 3,500 applications. Beneficiaries will be able to choose from 13 accredited entities for the period 2023-2027. In this context, young farmers who have joined in the last five years will be given priority, reflecting the Government of Aragón’s commitment to generational renewal in the field.

Genetic Innovation: A Step Forward for Native Breeds

In the area of genetic improvement and genealogical books, the call is funded with 470,000 euros and is aimed at the 15 associations of native livestock breeds of Aragón. The objective is to promote the creation or maintenance of genealogical books and the development of genetic improvement programs, key elements for preserving and enhancing genetic diversity in Aragonese livestock.

Alignment with the Strategic Plan of the CAP

José Manuel Cruz, General Director of Rural Development, emphasized that these actions are aligned with the Strategic Plan of the CAP 2023-2027. The goal is to strengthen training, advisory services, and innovation in the rural areas of Aragón, thereby ensuring the sustainable and competitive development of the agricultural sector in the region.
