Aragón has taken a decisive step towards modernizing the tourism sector with the launch of the «Digital Skills for Tourism» program. This initiative, driven by the Government of Aragón, Tourism of Aragón, and the Council of Chambers of Commerce, aims to train more than 360 professionals in the use of artificial intelligence to enhance the competitiveness of the sector.
Training in Artificial Intelligence for Tourism
The program has begun its journey in Teruel, where more than 80 professionals from the hospitality and tourism sector participated in the first session. This training initiative is free and designed to meet the digitalization needs of the sector, focusing on the application of artificial intelligence. The training comprises a total of 150 hours, divided into 40 live sessions and 110 hours of self-managed online content, provided by the consulting firm IA Experience.
The initiative will be carried out across the three provinces of Aragón, ensuring wide territorial coverage and allowing professionals from throughout the autonomous community to access these cutting-edge tools.
Objectives and Content of the Program
The main objective of the program is to strengthen the business competitiveness of the Aragonese tourism sector through the use of advanced digital tools. The training focuses on improving business management, automating processes, digital positioning, and creating solutions tailored to tourism businesses. Additionally, it seeks to enhance digital marketing and strengthen cybersecurity, ensuring data protection in an increasingly digital environment.
This effort is part of the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan, financed by the European NextGenerationEU funds, highlighting its importance as a strategic axis for the modernization of the tourism sector in Aragón.
