The Department of Agriculture, Livestock, and Food of the Government of Aragón has approved 22 new pilot innovation projects under the National Strategic Plan for the CAP 2023-2027, with a budget of 2.5 million euros to address the challenges of the Aragonese countryside.
Approved Projects
Agricultural sector: 12 projects, including 5 using precision agriculture techniques.
Other areas: Projects in livestock, management of by-products and biomass, and innovative transformation/marketing.
Participants: Cooperatives, sector companies, irrigation communities, livestock associations, and environmental entities.
Funding: Grants covering up to 80% of the cost, with amounts between 30,000 and 120,000 euros per project.
Historic Investment
Since 2016, 255 innovation groups have been promoted with 29.3 million euros of public investment. The global mobilization of resources exceeds 36 million, reaching 56.6 million with complementary measures.
The success of the program lies in the direct collaboration between the Aragonese scientific-technological ecosystem and the agri-food sector to improve the profitability and sustainability of farms in the face of climate change and global competition.
