Miguel Ángel Rodero: «Artificial Intelligence is Here, and Education Must Learn to Coexist with It»

The tech entrepreneur Miguel Ángel Rodero, co-founder of one of the first Spanish digital education platforms, participated in Huesca at the conclusion of the Talent Tour with a lecture focused on the impact of artificial intelligence on education. During his talk, he argued that AI should not be viewed as a threat, but as a tool capable of transforming the way we learn if used judiciously.

Rodero explained to the attendees gathered at the Palacio de Congresos that technology is already part of the educational present and that ignoring it is not an option. In his opinion, the challenge now is not to prevent students from using artificial intelligence, but to teach them to do so responsibly and with critical thinking.

A technological change already underway

The entrepreneur insisted that the emergence of artificial intelligence represents one of the most significant technological changes in recent decades. Its adoption is occurring rapidly, especially among young people, who naturally integrate these tools into their daily lives.

However, Rodero warned that the real challenge is not access to technology, but how it is used. Many students turn to these tools without fully understanding how they work or their limitations, making it essential for educators and educational institutions to support this process.

For the entrepreneur, the role of teachers will become increasingly important as guides in this new digital environment. Educators must not only incorporate technology into the classroom but also teach students to question the information they receive and to use these tools as support for learning, not as a substitute for intellectual effort.

AI as an educational tool

During his talk, Rodero proposed various scenarios for how artificial intelligence could be integrated into classrooms depending on the educational stage. In the early years of schooling, he believes its use should primarily be in the hands of teachers, who could use it to create tailored materials, personalized stories, or educational resources adapted to each student’s needs.

As students progress in their education, technology can be gradually integrated as a support tool for studying, organizing content, or developing creative projects. In more advanced courses, artificial intelligence could even become a regular resource for researching, generating materials, or developing new ways of learning.

Critical thinking in the digital age

One of the central messages of his talk was the need to reinforce critical thinking in education. Rodero emphasized that artificial intelligence can make mistakes or reproduce biases, so students must learn to validate information and not automatically accept the answers they receive.

In this context, he also championed the growing value of skills such as reading, analytical ability, and expression of ideas. In a world increasingly mediated by technology, knowing how to ask good questions and structure thought will be as important as mastering digital tools.

Young talent and entrepreneurship

The co-founder of El Rincón del Vago also reflected on the role of young people in the future of the technological ecosystem. In his view, the new generations will be responsible for driving the next stage of innovation in a context marked by ever-rapid changes.

Rodero highlighted that Spain has the talent and capacity to develop innovative projects, although he believes that it is still necessary to foster a more favorable culture for entrepreneurship. Enabling young people to develop ideas and create new initiatives will be key to strengthening the productive fabric.

A future full of opportunities

Despite the challenges posed by the technological revolution, Rodero conveyed an optimistic message about the future. Artificial intelligence, he said, opens up a landscape full of opportunities for both education and the professional development of new generations.

The goal, he concluded, is not for technology to replace people, but to enhance their capabilities. When used responsibly, artificial intelligence can become a powerful tool for learning more, creating more, and better understanding the world around us.
