Aragon has reached a significant economic milestone by accumulating 80 billion euros in business investments since the beginning of the legislative term. This achievement is driven by the decision of the American company Diamond Foundry to invest 1 billion euros in Zaragoza, consolidating the region as a hub for the technology industry.
Investment from Diamond Foundry and Its Impact
The arrival of Diamond Foundry at the Empresarium industrial park in Zaragoza promises the creation of 300 jobs in the technology sector. The President of the Government of Aragon, Jorge Azcón, highlighted the importance of this investment, deeming it «possibly the most significant investment to be made in Spain for a chip factory.» This project reflects the attractiveness that Zaragoza offers, enhanced by its growing industrial ecosystem and the presence of data centers.
Expansion of the Business Ecosystem in Aragon
The growth of the business ecosystem in Aragon is evident with the arrival of companies such as Multiverse Computing, Amazon Web Services, Box2Bit, ESpanix, and Instalaza. These companies have announced new initiatives that strengthen the data center industry in the region. Consequently, Aragon is positioning itself as an industrial reference comparable to European regions such as Paris or Frankfurt.
Commitment to Technological Training
The Government of Aragon is investing in the training of local talent, expanding opportunities in Computer Engineering, Physics, and Mathematics, and promoting Vocational Training in technological sectors. This strategy aims to attract highly skilled and well-paid jobs for the young people of Aragon, ensuring a promising future aligned with market needs.
