Aragón and Educatrafic Promote Road Safety Workshops for Youth

The Department of Education, Culture and Sports of Aragón has signed an agreement with the Educatrafic Foundation to carry out road safety workshops aimed at high school and vocational training students. This initiative seeks to promote safe and responsible mobility among young people in Aragón, raising awareness about the risks of driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs.

Promotion of Safe and Sustainable Mobility

The main objective of this collaboration is to foster safe, active, and sustainable mobility. In addition, it aims to reinforce education for citizenship and improve road safety among the youth demographic. The agreement establishes a stable framework with Educatrafic, an entity with extensive experience in training young people in road education.

The initiative not only seeks to reduce traffic accidents among young people but also to instill habits of active and responsible mobility. It is expected that these workshops will contribute to the comprehensive education of students, preparing them to be aware and responsible citizens in road matters.

Innovative Methodology and Practical Content

The workshops are designed to offer a combination of theoretical sessions and practical activities. Students will have the opportunity to participate in immersive experiences in a 90,000 m² circuit, equipped with simulators, bicycles, electric scooters, buggies, distortion goggles, and first aid materials.

The training content covers safe and responsible mobility to accident prevention, including the risks of alcohol and drug consumption, first aid, and emergency response. Additionally, active mobility with healthy habits is promoted. The sessions are scheduled to begin in mid-February.

Institutional Collaboration and Organization

The execution of these workshops involves collaboration with the General Directorate of Traffic, the Civil Guard, AESLEME, Fundación Ibercaja, the City Hall of Zaragoza, and DYA. The Department of Education will be responsible for disseminating information to all educational institutions, while Educatrafic will manage the overall organization, logistical coordination, and student safety.

The agreement is valid for one year, with the possibility of extension, and a monitoring committee has been established to oversee its proper execution. This collaboration exemplifies how the unification of efforts between public institutions and specialized entities can significantly contribute to the traffic safety and education of young people.
