Fundación Ibercaja has launched Docentes Referentes, an initiative aimed at recognizing and highlighting educators who are transforming education in Spain. This project is part of the foundation’s 150th anniversary and is supported institutionally by Her Royal Highness Infanta Doña Sofía as Honorary President, reinforcing its relevance and commitment to educational excellence.
The Docentes Referentes initiative aims to showcase the work of those educators who inspire and elevate the educational level in the country. Fundación Ibercaja, with this proposal, reaffirms its historical commitment to education, especially during a crucial time for innovation and the training of new generations. This recognition not only values the work of educators but also seeks to foster a culture of excellence and dedication within the educational field.
Event Launch Details
The presentation event for Docentes Referentes took place on February 26, 2026, at 11:30 AM at Espacio Aster, located on the 14th and 15th floors of Gran Vía 30, Madrid. The choice of this location symbolizes the importance and national reach of the initiative. During the event, prominent figures from the educational field and Fundación Ibercaja participated. Among them were José Luis Rodrigo Escrig, General Director of Fundación Ibercaja, and Carmen Campos, Project Manager for Education, who emphasized the importance of recognizing educators who make a difference. Additionally, María Ocaña, State Attorney and President of the Expert Committee, and Jaime Olmedo, Rector of Camilo José Cela University and jury member, shared their views on the relevance of education in today’s society.
