The Government of Aragon has awarded the entirety of the 12.5 million euros from the 2025 call of the Just Transition Fund, benefiting 94 companies in the province of Teruel. The resolution was presented by the vice president Mar Vaquero, who highlighted the high business interest as a reflection of the good economic moment of the autonomous community.
The granted aids will mobilize a total investment of over 35 million euros in the province of Teruel. Of the 231 applications submitted, 94 business projects from various sectors and regions have been selected. The resolution was presented at an event attended by Joaquín Juste, president of the Provincial Council of Teruel; Juan Carlos Cruzado, deputy mayor of the City Council of Teruel; and Daniel Rey, president of the Aragonese Institute of Promotion (IAF).
The program is structured into four differentiated lines. The Digitalization line includes 36 aids amounting to 869,481 euros, corresponding to an investment of 1,953,351 euros. The Business Development and Internationalization line includes 21 aids for 8,630,518 euros, with an associated investment of 26,507,734 euros. In Energy Efficiency, 32 aids have been granted for 2,500,000 euros for investments of 5,214,202 euros. Finally, the Implementation and Monitoring of Intelligent Energy Systems and Their Storage line consists of 5 aids for 500,000 euros, corresponding to investments of 1,354,153 euros.
By economic sectors, industry leads with 27 aids that account for 60.29% of the funds awarded. The services sector receives 53 aids, representing 32.06% of the total. The agri-food sector obtains 14 aids for an amount of 955,500 euros.
Projections and Future Calls
The vice president highlighted that more than 25 million euros have been distributed in the province of Teruel through this fund in the last two years. In the coming days, a new call for Circular Economy projects, endowed with 2.5 million euros, will be published in the Official Gazette of Aragon. For 2026, the calls for the Just Transition Fund will amount to 15 million euros, concluding in 2027 with the distribution of accumulated unallocated funds. Additionally, 39 million euros are currently allocated for public initiatives in the province of Teruel since June, with the submitted projects currently under review.
