The Government of Aragon has launched the ambitious project “Aragon Connects Cultures,” aimed at positioning the community as an international cultural reference. This innovative program, presented by Mar Vaquero, Vice President and Minister for the Presidency, Justice, Culture and Sports, seeks to integrate various cultural and economic expressions to promote territorial development.
An Internationally-Focused Cultural Project
The initiative was unveiled on the terrace of the IAACC Pablo Serrano, with Mar Vaquero and Pedro Olloqui, General Director of Culture and Cultural Heritage, in attendance. The event featured performances by the group Modelo and DJ Guillems, marking the launch of a platform that aspires to internationalize Aragonese culture. “Aragon Connects Cultures” is positioned as a territorial brand that merges music, heritage, gastronomy, and tourism, among other aspects.
The project aims to transform Aragon into a vibrant and decentralized cultural stage. Cities, rural areas, festivals, and historical heritage will come together to present a unique international image. Vaquero emphasized that this strategy seeks to place Aragon on the map as a creative and diverse territory capable of generating talent and attracting visitors.
Five Pillars to Connect Cultures
“Aragon Connects Cultures” is structured around five main pillars:
“The Music That Inspires”: This program includes international concerts at the Ibercaja Stadium, featuring artists such as Leiva and Romeo Santos, scheduled for June 27 and July 3, respectively.
“Sound Bridge”: Designed to showcase Aragonese artists, this pillar promotes local music and its projection beyond regional borders.
“Experiences That Build Bridges”: Events that connect cultures, following successful models like the Vive Latino Festival, where Aragon serves as a cultural bridge.
“Our Roots”: Focused on strengthening the region’s festival network, promoting local culture.
“Savoring Culture”: Proposing immersive experiences that showcase Aragon through the five senses.
Cultural Week “Sound Bridge”
The programming for “Sound Bridge” will take place between the concerts of Leiva and Romeo Santos, with a week dedicated to Aragonese music and culture. From June 28 to July 2, the terrace of the IAACC Pablo Serrano will host performances by various artists, including Miguel Lardiés, Alex Garber, Lady Banana, and others.
Featuring a total of fifteen artists, eight of whom have received an Aragonese Music Award, the event aims to disseminate the contemporary cultural identity of Aragon. The performances, which are free and open to the public, will start at 8:00 PM, with a capacity limited to 150 attendees, who must register in advance through the Aragón Tickets website.
