Cabify Invests $20 Million to Enhance Urban Logistics Services in Latin America

Cabify, the Spanish ride-hailing firm, is broadening its logistics services in Latin America, reflecting a strategic pivot towards enhancing urban last-mile delivery. In a significant move, the company is investing $20 million to bolster its logistics arm, aiming for substantial growth across various South American markets.

In a bid to extend its reach in the logistics sector, Cabify has earmarked $20 million for the expansion of its logistics service in key South American countries, including Colombia, Argentina, Peru, and Chile. The ambitious investment is projected to propel the company’s delivery services five-fold compared to last year, positioning it to meet the rising demands of urban logistics.

Cabify Logistics has successfully established a formidable client portfolio that includes major brands such as Mercado Libre, Wendy’s, KFC, and Mercat. This service caters to a diverse range of industries, from e-commerce and retail to pharmaceuticals. For instance, Cabify has partnered with Mercat in Chile to facilitate timely delivery services for restaurants, enhancing operational efficiency in the food sector.

Operationally, Cabify Logistics maintains a distribution warehouse in Madrid, Spain, where it offers next-day delivery solutions supplemented by a fleet of fully electric vans. The company is also set to introduce larger cargo vehicles and increase its electric and zero-emission fleet across Latin America, demonstrating its commitment to sustainable practices in logistics.

Cabify has reported promising growth metrics, with the logistics sector doubling its performance in 2023. Notably, this growth trajectory has been especially pronounced in Argentina, Chile, and Colombia, where demand for 24-hour delivery services has surged. This upward trend highlights the company’s adaptability and responsiveness to market needs.

In addition to expanding its operational capabilities, Cabify places a significant emphasis on technological innovation and environmental responsibility. The firm is reinforcing its technological infrastructure and workforce, as well as planning enhancements to its customer service through multichannel support. Notably, Cabify aims to achieve a fully decarbonized fleet by 2025 in Spain and by 2030 in Latin America, having already reported a 6% reduction in CO2 emissions per kilometer in Spain and 2% in the Latin American region.

Cabify’s venture into logistics underscores a strategic diversification aimed at capitalizing on the growing demand for efficient urban delivery services. With substantial investments, an expanding client base, and a steadfast commitment to sustainability, Cabify Logistics is well-positioned to enhance its footprint in Latin America and drive future growth.
