The Environment and Tourism Department of Aragón has launched the call for the Aragón Environment Award 2026, a recognition of actions that promote the conservation and improvement of the natural environment in the community. The deadline for submitting applications is April 14, thus raising environmental awareness among citizens.
Four categories to reward environmental commitment
The Aragón Environment Award 2026 is divided into four categories, each focused on different aspects of environmental protection and improvement in Aragón. The first category, Aragón Environment Award 2026, is aimed at individuals or legal entities of recognized prestige, whose history stands out for their dedication to environmental conservation in the region.
The second category, Environmental Improvement of Rural Areas, seeks to recognize projects or actions that have had a positive impact on the rural environment of Aragón. This award highlights the importance of preserving and improving natural resources in areas outside urban centers.
Thirdly, the Urban Environment category focuses on initiatives that promote sustainability and environmental quality within the cities and towns of Aragón. This recognition is directed towards those individuals or entities that work for a more sustainable urban environment.
Finally, the Knowledge and Dissemination of the Environment category rewards works, studies, or activities that contribute to a better understanding of environmental issues or that promote the natural values of the Aragonese territory.
Requirements to participate in the award
The awards are open to individuals or legal entities, both from the public and private sectors, who develop their activities in favor of the environment in Aragón. An essential requirement is not having been sanctioned for administrative offenses or environmental crimes. Applications can be submitted by individuals, organizations, institutions, or groups that have distinguished themselves for their track record or for carrying out specific projects in defense of environmental values.
This call not only seeks to reward the effort and commitment of those who work for a more sustainable Aragón but also to inspire others to follow their example in protecting the environment.
