Aragonese Alex Caro Tello competes in Herning, Denmark, for the title of best European vocational student

Alex Caro Tello, a student at IES Virgen del Pilar de Zaragoza, is representing Spain at the Euroskills 2025, the European Championship of Vocational Training taking place in Herning (Denmark). The young Aragonese is competing in the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning category after being crowned national champion in 2024.

Participation in Euroskills 2025

Alex Caro Tello is in the Danish city of Herning this week participating in the European Vocational Training Olympics. The student qualified for this competition after winning the national championship in 2024 and representing Spain in Lyon last year at the World Skills. The Euroskills, which run until Saturday, is a European event for young vocational students that rewards professional talent and showcases the latest advancements in vocational training.

Competition Details

The student from IES Virgen del Pilar is representing Spain in the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning category, where he must demonstrate his skills in cutting and assembling pipes, welding, and troubleshooting electrical faults in various tests related to assembling and repairing refrigeration equipment. Over three days, hundreds of young people from across Europe are competing in a total of 38 different categories, highlighting the wide range of vocational training offerings. The results will be announced on Saturday, at which point it will be known whether the young Aragonese wins one of the medals.

Background in National Competitions

In the recent Spainskills Olympics, where Caro won the Gold Medal in his specialty, Aragon participated with a delegation of 31 students from 16 different institutions, competing in 24 of the 27 categories, demonstrating the quality and excellent standard of vocational training provided in the Autonomous Community.
