CEPYME Zaragoza Begins Electoral Process to Define the Organization’s Strategy for the Next Five Years

The Confederation of Small and Medium Enterprises of Zaragoza (CEPYME Zaragoza) has begun its electoral process, which will culminate in the election of the new Presidency and the renewal of the Executive Committee on April 28, 2026.

The Executive Committee of the organization, meeting alongside members of the Assembly, has initiated the process by issuing an official call for elections and establishing the electoral calendar. In this initial phase, the registry of assembly members is also being updated; these members will participate in the election of the next president and in shaping the new Committee that will guide the strategy of the entity during the period 2026-2031.

CEPYME Zaragoza is the business organization that represents the interests of small and medium enterprises and freelancers in the province of Zaragoza. Through its structure, it groups together numerous sectoral and territorial associations, acting as a spokesperson before administrations and other institutions.

According to information provided by the organization, the electoral process takes place within an economic context marked by inflation, pressure on operating costs, and regulatory uncertainty. In this framework, the entity emphasizes the need to strengthen internal dialogue and the capacity for business communication in order to provide effective responses to SMEs.

The Agreement for Employment and Collective Bargaining, which was in effect until 2025, opens a new stage of negotiations in 2026 amid greater uncertainty for small and medium enterprises, especially regarding labor costs and liquidity.

During the initial meeting, specific sectoral issues were also addressed, such as the situation in road transport. Associations like Tradime have expressed concern about the evolution of diesel prices and the adequacy of the measures adopted. Meanwhile, the National Road Transport Committee has insisted on the need to structurally maintain professional diesel and to implement a flexible indexation clause.

The Association of Service Stations of Aragon (AESAR) has evaluated Royal Decree-Law 7/2026 concerning tax reductions on fuels, though it noted that the measure came too late and could have been more ambitious.

The electoral process initiated by CEPYME Zaragoza has as its main objective the establishment of the organization’s roadmap for the next five years, adapting it to the needs and challenges of the business fabric of Zaragoza, which is predominantly composed of SMEs.

The organization has convened its internal bodies to ensure an orderly and participative development of the elections, which will conclude on April 28 with the election of the new executive positions.
