Aragón to Send Institutional Delegation to Japan for the Universal Exhibition in Osaka

The Vice President Mar Vaquero and the Minister Manuel Blasco will lead an institutional trip to Japan starting on September 29 in conjunction with the Aragón Week at the Universal Exhibition in Osaka. The aim is to strengthen economic and business ties with the Japanese country and attract Japanese tourism to the region.

The Aragonese delegation will consist of Mar Vaquero, Vice President and Minister of Presidency, Economy, and Justice, and Manuel Blasco, Minister of Environment and Tourism, accompanied by Javier Camo, General Manager of Aragón Exterior, and Jorge Moncada, Director General of Tourism and Hospitality. The region will celebrate its Honor Day on October 1 at the Pavilion of Spain with an institutional act.

The delegation will hold meetings and working sessions with companies in the technology sector and Japanese institutions, including NTT Data, Softbank, and JAMA (Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association). Vaquero highlighted that Aragón is capable of attracting investments worth €57.9 billion, of which €48 billion corresponds to data centers, and has key projects such as the Aragón Alierta Technology District, Walqa, and Technopark.

Tourism Promotion

Blasco and Moncada will participate in a tourism promotion event in Tokyo with around twenty Japanese travel agencies and specialized media confirmed so far. The agenda includes a visit to the Spanish Tourist Office in Tokyo. In Osaka, there will be tastings of Aragonese products, live jota performances, presentations of Aragón as a tourist destination, and an origami exhibition featuring models inspired by Spain, Aragón, Zaragoza, Huesca, and Teruel.

Throughout the week, performances of traditional Aragonese jota will take place from October 1 to 4 with six members of the group Raíces de Aragón, tastings of Jamón de Teruel with live carvers, wine tastings, and talks on Aragonese wines. Jackets from Aragonese restaurants with Michelin Stars will be displayed alongside shirts of Japanese player Mawuli from Casademont Zaragoza and footballer Shinji Kagawa, former player of Real Zaragoza.
