Bodo Haag presents his innovative work in Zaragoza until December 2025

The Origami Museum School of Zaragoza Exhibits the Works of German Artist Bodo Haag in the Exhibition ‘From Leaf to Shape’

The Origami Museum School of Zaragoza will host the works of German paper folder Bodo Haag from September 20 to December 8. The exhibition ‘From Leaf to Shape’ presents a paper zoo featuring pieces of great technical complexity that aim to capture the spirit of various animals through innovative origami structures.

Details about the Exhibited Pieces

Diversity of Animal Figures: The exhibition brings together all kinds of paper animals, from sharks and prehistoric species to household pets. The pieces stand out for their expressive nature and the use of humor, incorporating elements such as mice that look directly at their pursuers or wolves disguised in sheep’s clothing.

Technical Innovation: Haag pushes the possibilities of origami to the limit by exploring new structures and ideas. One of his trademarks is the complex color changes he achieves by utilizing both sides of the paper, allowing him to express different tones within a single piece.

Artist Profile

Personal Journey: Bodo Haag was born in 1999 in Tübingen, Germany, and began folding paper at the age of 6 thanks to his mother. Just a year later, he started creating his own models, an activity he has consistently maintained while balancing his design studies.

Artistic Evolution: The artist has evolved from classic origami to more elaborate figures, seeking to learn all possible design techniques. Among his favorite techniques is box pleating, which uses folds of squares and rectangles to create angles of 45, 90, and 22.5 degrees.

International Participation: Haag has participated in various origami conventions, including one held in Boston last year and the International Origami Convention that took place in Barcelona in 2023. These exchanges have provided him with inspiration from other artists, opportunities to conduct workshops, and a chance to share knowledge with other folders.
