The Department of Education, Culture and Sports of the Government of Aragón has decided to initiate the procedures to offer the possibility of overnight stays at the Residencia CPIFP de Movera on Sunday nights. This measure is aimed at students who can demonstrate the impossibility of traveling on Monday morning due to the distance to the educational center.
Councillor Tomasa Hernández communicated this decision in a letter to families this Friday and explained the measure in the plenary session of the Cortes de Aragón. The department requests that students in this situation inform the center’s secretary for management purposes, with the aim of implementing the measure as soon as possible.
The measure is subject to the compliance with necessary administrative formalities and lasts for one academic year, with the possibility of reversing the decision based on circumstances. It will be applied as long as it does not affect family coexistence and territorial dislocation.
For the evaluation of requests, specific criteria have been considered: the distance from the place of residence to the educational center, the courses taken, the class schedule of the courses taken, and the impact on family coexistence and territorial dislocation.
Context and Requests Received
In the current school year, several requests have been received urging the evaluation of opening the residence on Sunday nights for overnight stays, as the distance from the places of origin does not allow for travel on the same Monday to attend the first class session. This is the first time since the ownership belongs to the Government of Aragón that the Department of Education has made this decision.
Residences traditionally remain closed on weekends to promote family coexistence and avoid territorial dislocation, as established by current regulations.
