The Saulus Festival 2025 Highlights Zaragoza as the Capital of Vocal Music

Festival Saulus Celebrates Its VI Edition in Zaragoza as a Benchmark for Vocal Music

The Saulus Festival returns to Zaragoza with its sixth edition from September 14 to November 9, 2025, consolidating the Aragonese capital as a hub for vocal music. The event will feature five concerts and a choral experimentation lab with top national and international artists, including groups from Latvia and Sweden that will be visiting the city for the first time.

Highlighted Program with International Artists

Among the most notable names is soprano Laia Falcón, who will offer a recital alongside pianist Alberto Rosado featuring a program focused on Modernism, including works by Mahler, Ravel, Poulenc, Weill, Gershwin, and Ginastera.

The Cor de Cambra del Palau will present an innovative theatrical proposal titled Juicio a Gesualdo, in collaboration with jazz pianist Marco Mezquida and actors Paula Blanco and Ignasi Guasch, under the direction of Xavier Puig.

The international programming is completed by the prestigious Latvian choir Kamēr, directed by Jurģis Cābulis and a winner of dozens of international awards since 1990, and the Swedish vocal group En Kör, composed of twelve singers and recognized as an emerging reference in the new European choral scene.

Local Proposal and Experimentation

The festival continues to promote local participation through El Refectorio, which in this edition transforms into a Coral Experimentation Laboratory directed by Aragonese singer-songwriter Ester Vallejo. The artist, recognized for her album A la fresca as Best Aragonese Album 2024, will use themes from this work as a starting point for the workshop on November 8 and 9.

The inauguration will be led by the Academia ArteSonado & Saulus Ensemble, the first professional chamber choir in Aragón founded in 2021, under the artistic direction of Lluís Vilamajó.

Venues and Tickets

The concerts will take place in two main venues: the Iglesia de San Pablo and the headquarters of Caja Rural de Aragón. Tickets and passes are available through the website festivalvocalsaulus.com, by phone (660200013), or at the box office 45 minutes before each concert.

The festival is sponsored by Caja Rural de Aragón and Principal Construcciones, maintaining partnerships with organizations such as the International Competition of Tolosa and the Superior Conservatory of Music of Aragón.

The program was presented at a press conference by artistic directors Elena Ruiz-Ortega and Jorge Apodaca, along with Sara Fernández, Councilor for Culture of the City Council of Zaragoza, and Laura Prada, Director of the Fundación Caja Rural de Aragón.
