Fuentes de Ebro is preparing to experience a particularly significant Holy Week: for the first time it will do so with the recognition of Fiesta de Interés Turístico de Aragón, a distinction that values the antiquity, participation, and uniqueness of its processional acts.
The municipality faces these days with great anticipation. The brotherhoods are finalizing details and rehearsals for a program that combines tradition, music, and popular devotion. Among the most anticipated moments are the processions on Holy Thursday and Good Friday, which highlight the order, discipline of the participants, and the presence of numerous drums and bass drums.
The recognition granted by the Government of Aragon comes after years of work to document the historical and cultural relevance of this celebration, as well as its strong social roots. The Holy Week of Fuentes de Ebro is characterized by widespread community participation and a distinctive style that sets it apart from other municipalities in the province.
The City Council notes that the declaration will help enhance the tourism projection of the locality and attract more visitors, which translates into a boost for local economic activity during these days.
With this distinction, Fuentes de Ebro reinforces its identity as a cultural and religious destination, and faces a Holy Week edition that is expected to be especially emotional for residents and brotherhood members.
