The Government has approved an investment of 40.6 million euros for Aragón, allocated to educational programs and Vocational Training, as part of a national distribution of over 1.170 billion euros. This measure aims to reinforce the educational system and improve the qualifications of workers in the region.
Territorial Cooperation Educational Programs
The distribution of funds includes five key initiatives to enhance education in Aragón. Among them are the Strengthening Reading Competence and Strengthening Mathematical Competence, with allocations of 2.2 million and 4.2 million euros respectively. These programs are designed to provide personalized attention to students with difficulties and reduce the gender gap, covering from the second cycle of Early Childhood Education to Basic Vocational Training cycles.
The PROA+ Program, with a budget of 4 million euros for Aragón, co-financed by the Ministry and the European Social Fund Plus, focuses on improving academic success in centers with high socio-educational vulnerability. Additionally, the Inclusive Education program aims to eliminate barriers to ensure equal opportunities, with an investment of 1 million euros.
Vocational Training for Workers
Furthermore, 29.1 million euros have been allocated to Aragón for Vocational Training, part of a national investment of 867.1 million euros. Of this amount, 696.5 million is focused on training unemployed workers, while 145.9 million is directed towards training actions for employed workers. Approximately 24.8 million is reserved for extraordinary actions that promote continuous qualification and requalification.
Impact and Continuity of Investment
Since 2018, the Ministry of Education has channeled over 4.425 billion euros to autonomous communities for territorial cooperation programs, and since 2021, over 4 billion euros for Vocational Training. The Minister of Education, Vocational Training and Sports, Milagros Tolón, highlighted that this investment reflects the value that this Government places on education and Vocational Training.
