Aragón has launched an ambitious grant program for the hiring of predoctoral research staff, with a total investment of €6.9 million until 2032. This initiative, aimed at strengthening research and innovation in the region, will benefit 65 young researchers.
Predoctoral Contracts: A Commitment to the Future
The Directorate General of Science and Research, under the Department of Education, Science, and Universities, has published this new call for applications, which will finance the hiring of 65 predoctoral researchers. These contracts, with a standard duration of 4 years and up to 6 years for individuals with disabilities, are designed to support researchers on their path to obtaining a doctorate. The call is now available in the Official Bulletin of Aragón (BOA), and one position is reserved for individuals with a recognized disability of 33% or greater.
Promoting Researcher Mobility in 2026
In addition to the contracts, the program includes mobility grants for the year 2026, with a budget of €200,000 allocated to finance 50 stays at national and international centers. These grants aim to promote scientific exchange and the acquisition of new techniques by predoctoral researchers.

Impact and Strategic Framework of the Initiative
The Government of Aragón reaffirms its commitment to research through this program, which currently includes 250 young researchers. In previous calls, beneficiaries were hired by institutions such as the University of Zaragoza, the CSIC, and the Aragon Health Research Institute (ISS Aragon). This initiative aligns with the III Aragonese Autonomous Plan for Research, Development, and Knowledge Transfer 2021-2027 and the Aragon Law on Research and Innovation.
The application submission period will begin on June 19, through the online processing system of the Government of Aragón, with procedure number 11,435. This program not only strengthens the Aragonese research ecosystem but also boosts the competitiveness and scientific development of the region.
