Amazon expands its robotics program in Aragón

Amazon expands its robotics and programming workshops in Aragón with a new global platform to connect students from around the world

The educational program Amazon Think Big Space continues in Aragón during the 2025-2026 school year, incorporating a new teaching methodology and an international platform that will connect Aragonese students with schools in America, Europe, and Asia. The initiative aims to reach an additional 5,000 students in the region, following the training of over 5,000 students since December 2023.

Amazon Think Big Space has been present in 21 schools in Huesca, Zaragoza, and Teruel since December 2023, offering practical robotics and programming workshops lasting approximately two hours for students aged 9 to 16. The workshops integrate STEAM education (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) directly into the educational centers in the region.

For the new school year, the program incorporates the Tangible methodology, which teaches programming in a visual and simple way using physical pieces that fit together like a puzzle to create algorithms. This new pedagogical tool aims to make programming learning more accessible for students.

During the summer, the initiative participated for the second consecutive year in the Etopia Summer Camp, driven by the Zaragoza City Council and Fundación Hiberus alongside the Academy of Inventors. In this experience, 115 students built and programmed robots with LEGO kits, accompanied by volunteers from Amazon‘s data centers, who shared their professional experience and supported the project design.

Launch of the global Think Big Circle platform

As a noteworthy development, Think Big Circle is being launched, a platform that will connect students from schools where the Think Big Space program is active in America, Europe, and Asia. This global initiative will allow participation in the Tangible Coding4Mandela World Cup, elevating the STEM learning experience to an international competitive level.

The Think Big Circle platform is designed to:

  • Facilitate global collaboration among Amazon’s Think Big spaces
  • Advance STEAM skills through team problem-solving
  • Maintain commitment through regular online global events and knowledge exchange

Collaborations and success stories

The program is developed in collaboration with CreativeHUT and Robotix, specialized providers of STEAM educational solutions and robotics, who provide pedagogical resources and materials tailored to each age group.

Sandra Esquillor, director of the FED La Concepción school in Zaragoza, positively evaluated the experience: «It is a great opportunity for students to learn about programming and robotics while having fun; they appreciate it and are enthusiastic.»

Registration process for educational centers

Interested Aragonese educational centers can register via an online form or contact through the email jalmerich@robotix.me. The program is part of Amazon InCommunities, an area focused on generating a positive impact in local communities where the company has data centers, reinforcing Amazon’s commitment in Aragón to offer training opportunities that prepare young people for their academic and professional futures.
