The Chinese company In-Power Electric will establish a new manufacturing plant in Zaragoza for power conversion systems aimed at the energy storage industry. The project will involve an investment of 10 million euros over the next three years and the creation of 120 jobs.
The installation is set to begin in the first quarter of 2027, as announced by Zaragoza’s mayor, Natalia Chueca, during the State of the City Debate. The project’s confirmation followed a meeting with the company’s president and founder, concluding negotiations initiated during the last institutional trip of the City Council to China.
The future factory will have an annual production capacity of 6 GWh and will manufacture power conversion systems in Zaragoza for energy storage facilities. Production will be aimed at supplying markets in Europe, North Africa, and South America.
This installation expands Zaragoza’s value chain in the energy storage sector by incorporating the manufacturing of a strategic component for this type of infrastructure.
Zaragoza Strengthens Its Industrial Positioning
The announcement adds to the industrial investments linked to the energy sector that the city has attracted in recent months and reinforces its commitment to attracting international manufacturers related to energy transition.
During her speech, Natalia Chueca also highlighted the progress of TDG Ibernavitas, whose Zaragoza plant is already operating with an assembly line in production. According to data provided by the City Council, the company has invested 10 million euros and created 50 jobs, developing 25 projects from Zaragoza for various European countries.
The arrival of In-Power Electric bolsters the growth of the industrial ecosystem related to energy storage and solidifies Zaragoza’s status as one of the leading hubs for international investment in this field.
