The Joaquín Roncal Center in Zaragoza will host the IX Art and Health Conference this Thursday, an event that brings together professionals from cultural, healthcare, business, and social sectors to analyze the influence of art on physical and emotional well-being. The initiative, organized by culturaRSC.com and MAZ, proposes a multidisciplinary approach to reflect on current challenges related to health and quality of life.
The conference takes place in a context marked by the increase of disorders such as stress, anxiety, or insomnia, highlighting the role of culture, creativity, and social participation as elements that contribute to improving well-being. Throughout the morning, there will be presentations, short interventions, and discussion panels focused on specific experiences and projects.
One of the key focuses of the program is social inclusion through art. In this regard, there will be a fashion show featuring models with disabilities, accompanied by the presentation of ‘Manar,’ a collection of handmade jewelry created by individuals with intellectual disabilities from the Amibil collective at the Occupational Center of El Codoñal in Calatayud. The initiative highlights the value of the creative process as a tool for personal development, self-esteem improvement, and visibility of abilities.
The program also incorporates an international dimension with the participation of the NGO Ilumináfrica, which will showcase its work in the field of visual health in African countries through surgical interventions and ophthalmological consultations for underserved individuals.
Another relevant segment will focus on entrepreneurship initiatives, featuring professionals linked to the Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Aragon (ARAME). Through brief interventions, they will share experiences in areas such as space design, cultural product development, and applied psychology, demonstrating the connection between creativity, business, and well-being.
The conference will also include two round tables. The first will address sustainable, inclusive, and responsible tourism in Aragon, referencing the development of the Social Sustainability Plan for Tourism promoted in the community. The second will focus on the dissemination of culture, sports, and values as tools for social cohesion.
With free entry upon prior registration, the IX Art and Health Conference solidifies its role as a meeting place for sectors that share a common goal: to advance toward more inclusive models where culture and creativity actively contribute to improving health and social well-being.
