With the aim of strengthening the international projection of the Aragonese business fabric, the Government of Aragon, through the public company Aragón Exterior (AREX), will celebrate a new edition of the event Meet the Buyer on September 24, which this year will bring together 60 international buyers from 25 countries. This strategic meeting, now in its fourth edition, is established as one of the main tools for direct internationalization in Spain.
The event will take place at the Hotel Palafox in Zaragoza and will focus on facilitating B2B business meetings between purchasing managers and over a hundred Aragonese companies from key sectors such as agri-food, industrial, construction, and wine. More than 400 business meetings are expected to take place during this day.
Additionally, on October 27, a second sector-specific day will be held under the title Meet the Buyer – Wines from Aragón, at the Espacio Aura in Zaragoza, dedicated exclusively to the wine sector. It will feature the participation of 23 specialized buyers from eleven countries, who will hold nearly 200 meetings with more than 40 Aragonese wineries, combining tastings, product exhibitions, and business networking.
The managing director of AREX, Javier Camo, emphasized that this model “is especially valuable for Aragonese companies,” as it “allows direct meetings with potential international clients without leaving the region.” He also highlighted that “buyers get to know Aragón firsthand and can be convinced of the great quality of its products and professionals.”
The international dimension of the event also includes a parallel agenda of visits to businesses and facilities across the three provinces, as well as cultural and gastronomic activities that showcase the potential of the region beyond its industrial or agri-food production. AREX will also have the support of partners such as Ibercaja, the Valencia Port Authority, and the Port of Barcelona, official sponsors of the event.
The growth and consolidation of Meet the Buyer is reflected in the evolution of its figures: in 2023, 25 buyers from 13 countries participated, with 130 Aragonese companies registered and more than 350 meetings held. In this 2025 edition, it is expected to exceed 600 business meetings, which will set a new activity record.
These actions are part of a global strategy to support business internationalization. In 2024, exports from Aragon reached 16.766 billion euros, of which 12.125 billion came from sectors other than automotive, which traditionally leads Aragon’s foreign trade. In the first quarter of 2025 alone, exports totaled 3.723 billion, consolidating the weight of emerging markets in America, Asia, and Africa.
