Microsoft and Fundación hiberus have entered into a partnership to expand Menudos Techies, an extracurricular artificial intelligence program that will reach more than 1,000 students at over 50 schools across Aragon. Microsoft’s involvement extends the application deadline until September 30 and opens the program to additional schools.
Microsoft drives the expansion of Menudos Techies in schools across Aragon
The program is aimed at students in the final years of primary education, the first year of secondary education, and special education. Interested public, charter, and private schools can review the guidelines and submit their applications through Fundación hiberus’ website.
Microsoft will provide technological tools and resources, educational activities, and the involvement of volunteer professionals. The collaboration also preserves the program’s existing partnerships with other technology and education organizations.
Ana Liesa, head of Community Affairs at Microsoft Spain, links the initiative to the company’s social commitment in the regions where it operates and develops digital infrastructure. She said the project will bring technology and artificial intelligence to public schools in Aragon in a human, ethical, and hands-on way, particularly in La Muela and Villamayor de Gállego.
An artificial intelligence extracurricular program with 14 hands-on sessions
Menudos Techies was launched in 2024 and consists of 14 extracurricular sessions held at participating schools. Students gain practical insight into how artificial intelligence works and its impact on different aspects of everyday life.
The curriculum covers chatbots, prompt creation, artificial intelligence applied to art, video games, robotics, accessibility, and cybersecurity. Activities are tailored to each participant’s age and educational level.
Fundación hiberus designs the program alongside its artificial intelligence division and with the collaboration of technology professionals Valpat, Valeria Corrales, and Patricia Heredia. At special education schools, classes include adaptations developed with professionals from Fundación Querer.
More than 370 students took part in the previous edition
In its previous edition, Menudos Techies trained more than 370 students at 22 schools in Aragon, La Rioja, and Madrid. The new partnership with Microsoft aims to broaden that reach within Aragon and strengthen early exposure to digital skills.
Fundación hiberus Director Sandra Parrilla said the program promotes the ethical, safe, and responsible use of technology. Its goals include fostering teamwork, resilience, critical thinking, and communication, while encouraging STEAM career aspirations from an early age.
