Vive Latino Zaragoza 2025: Mexican Wrestling and Cuisine

The Mexican wrestling returns to Spain with 15 wrestlers at the Vive Latino Zaragoza festival

The upcoming Vive Latino España festival will feature for the first time an area completely themed around Mexico, highlighting the return of the spectacular Mexican wrestling to Spanish territory. The event will take place in Zaragoza on September 5 and 6 with fifteen renowned wrestlers divided into two traditional teams.

Wrestlers in the ring: the teams

The wrestlers are organized according to the traditional division of Mexican wrestling. The «Rudos» team will consist of Nitro, Zandoka Jr., Rey León, Chico Calavera, Shinobi, Yorbak, and Leo Cristian. Meanwhile, the «Técnicos» team includes King Rex, Star Jr., Kratoz, Jalapeño Lopez, Bravo, Century, Vaquero, and Zarcos.

Each day will feature three major matches throughout the day, with preliminary bouts at 5:50 PM, semifinals at 7:30 PM, and the main event at 9:30 PM. Saturday, the 6th, will be the highlight of the event, when the Vive Latino championship will be held in the main event.

Mexican culinary experience

The festival will incorporate a new themed area that includes a Mexican cantina, where attendees can sample the traditional michelada beer and a selection of tequilas. The michelada is prepared with beer, lime juice, salt, and a mix of sauces and spices, served in a glass with the rim dipped in salt, chili powder, and tamarind sauce.

Mexican cultural tradition

Mexican wrestling is defined as a cultural phenomenon that combines athletics, drama, and a deep sense of identity. It is characterized by its colorful masks, acrobatic movements, and the distinction between «técnicos» (the good guys) and «rudos» (the bad guys), transcending sport to become a performing art.

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet and interact with the wrestlers, promising a closer experience than ever before. The event is part of the Ibero-American Festival of Musical Culture, solidifying Vive Latino as one of the most important festivals in Ibero-America, with a presence in both Mexico and its recent expansion to Spain.
